The Big Picture:According to the world bank, Madagascar is known as the world's 6th poorest country. Their GDP per capita is USD463.00, compared to Australia's GDP which is USD67,458.40 per capita (Sydney). Madagascar's problems are not unique. Many other countries are suffering greatly from the same types of issues that Madagascar faces. These countries include, Central Africa Republic, Ethiopia and Guinea, all of these countries have a large list of issues. These problems include: 1. Corruption/political problems 2. Natural disasters 3. Over populating/unsustainable population 4. Infrastructure problems 5. Cultural and social problems 6. Trading and international exports
As seen in the pictures below all of these countries suffer from population overflow and are forced to live in cramped areas that are jam packed with make do buildings, in large areas called ghettos. This cramming too many people into a small area has its ramifications as it is a breeding ground for sickness and plague. It creates unsanitary conditions and disposing of waste such as sewage is difficult and often pollutes any types of water sources that are available.
